User imports timesheet to tasks: Does this get updated immediately

In 2007, when a teammember updates the PWA timesheet with time for various
tasks and submits it to the pm, would he have to wait for his timesheet
manager to approve the time before he can import the timesheet to update his
Task progress? In some cases, I am not seeing any updates show up even after
PM approval. Please advise.

If you are using the Project Server timesheet system, the submittals and
approvals for these are independent. So, after entering and submitting a
timesheet, the user must go to the My Tasks page, import the time from the
Timesheet, and then submit it to the PM. If your resources aren't doing both
steps, it would explain why you're not seeing the updates in the Project
plan.

If the PM is approving updates, and the data isn't making into the project
plan, that's an issue you need to explore!

Thanks Gary. Appreciate it. For some reason though the following continues to
happen. I sign in as User-A, create a timesheet for a week, add lines and
enter hours against the lines, saves and submits the timesheet to Approver.
Without waiting for any approvals, I(User-A) opens up My Tasks, scroll using
the arrow back or arrow forward buttons to the right week and then selects
Import Timesheet. It opens up the Import Timesheet page, and the timesheet
appears in the drop-down, but in the Preview section below, it does not show
any data at all, just the header labels (task name, class, current progress,
data from timesheet).

From what you stated below, I am assuming it has nothing to do with the
Approver not having approved the time. The question then is why is the data
not showing up from the timesheet?

If you're not seeing data, you may not have created the timesheets using
task assignments. For instance, if you create timesheets using projects
rather than task assignments, the data you collect cannot be imported into
My Tasks because it represents a mismatch. Is your system fully patched?
There were bugs in the import program that were fixed in the past.
