User name

how do i change the User to my own name? also when I put author on documents to print, it shows my name
Can anyone help please?

Yes, we can help, but it is very helpful to US if you at least specify what
version of Office you are using and in what application you want this to
appear. For most versions and applications, using Words
Tools->Options->User Information to change names will work.

I think what you meant is: Office XP

No, I said what I meant. What you did not say was your Office version and
Application where this is happening.

oops sorry. Perhaps it's office 10 that you are after. (I really am a new user.) I want to change 'User' for my own name tried a couple of times. system tells me it can't be changed.

Office 10 is Office XP - you should be able to change the information where
I first posted, in Word->Tools->Options->User Information. You must have
admin rights to change this I believe.

Yes I have done that already. However when i want to put the name on footers of created by: or author it still puts in User.
