using a decimal point changes cell to label

When I type a decimal (110.25) it changes it to a label
(100. 00). I have reloaded the operating system and the
program. Any ideas.

Perhaps your Control Panel Regional Settings are incorrectly set (using a
comma rather than a period as the decimal separator).
