Using a pdf -- HELP PLEASE

P

Peter

I have downloaded a pdf file from a website. It is a form I will be using
regularly. Is there anyway to using this pdf file to create a "template" for
future use? I really do not have the time to hand write each file each day.
Can a pdf file be used as a template in a word/excel/anything?

PDF files are handled by Adobe Acrobat. you would need to acquire
software to make the conversion to a Word file.

Even with Acrobat, the conversion to a Word or Excel template would be
nontrivial.

I believe we have acrobat. How do you convert then? Also, what is
nontrivial mean?

If you have Acrobat, you could copy portions of the PDF file in Acrobat
and paste into a new, blank Word document. You may not get the same
layout as you see in the PDF file. Sometimes you may not get anything
close to the original.

It may be possible for GhostScript, yet another product, to convert the
PDF file into HTML either directly or by converting the PDF file to
PostScript then converting the PostScript file to HTML.

You need to realize that PDF files are intended to be *final* products,
that is, not easily modified. Acrobat doesn't convert PDF files into
Word or other easily editable document formats. It's meant to do the
reverse.

Does anyone already have this program? I can not download it at work where I
need it for 1 document. If you do, would it be possible for you to convert
the file for me and email it to me?
