Using Activity plan for operational tracking

Well, taking someone else's advice, I created an Activity called "DBA
Support", then added my self to the team (no assignments). Sure
enough, I was able to go to my timesheet and add the line "DBA
Support".

Question...I noticed that either I didn't or wasn't able to enter a
finish date for the Activity (starts and ends today). Do the start/
finish dates impact when this line item may or may not be available to
add to the timesheet for time reporting or is it pretty much static
from now on?

Also, if I'm added to the team prior to a future timesheet creation,
is that line automatically added to the timesheet or do I have to pick
it each time?

Thanks,

I believe the start date does effect when you can see this on your timesheet
and that you will continue to see it on your timesheet until the activity
plan (this goes for projects as well) is marked as 100% complete.

For activities, same as projects you can only specify a start date and then
a detailed plan which will determine your end date. So if you don't put any
activities in the project, the start will equal the end date.

What if the current date is past the start date of the Activity but
the activity is never marked as 100% complete? Could folks continue
to book time against that in their timesheet Indefinately?

In the project detail view (PWA/PS07) , you should be able to close activity
to updates. This will effect tracking of the project. Ensure that you close
out timesheets NON current period too !!

Actually I want resources to be able to continue to book against these
operational "buckets".
