Using e-mail to notify resources of assigned tasks

I don't have MS Project Server, nor can I post my project to the internet. I want to inform my resources (personnel) of assigned tasks via e-mail. I've successfully sent the e-mails, but they appear as .mtm attachments in Outlook. Is there a way to send the assignments so the recipient can show it as a task (and then be able to update % complete, etc.)? How do I do this?

Hello David,

If you install WGSETUP on the remote PC, the user will be able to open the
..mtm attachments and enter day by day its Actual Work and update the
Remaining Work.

Have a look aat this link :
