Is Groove a good use of sharing ACT between two remote users?<<

I would not recommend this. In the Groove Help, under "File sharing workspace
restrictions and warnings" we have the following:

In addition to the file types that are specifically restricted from file
sharing, there are other types of files that may not work well in a file
sharing workspace. These include file types that have dependencies on other
files in order to run properly, or files from applications that run properly
only on the computer where the application was originally installed. Examples
of these file types include Outlook PST files, Quicken Quickbook files, and
Access database files.

Is it not suggested or not allowed? I am asking about the viablity of using
it this way.

Is it possible at all???

And if it is...is it allowed?

Thank you

I'm not clear on what you want to do.

You cannot provide remote access to an application with Groove.

You can share access to data in files with Groove. However, shared access to
files that access a database can swamp your network connection if the files
are modified to show access, and are thus continually seen as changed on one
system or the other. All I know about ACT is that it's a CRM database
product, so I do not know whether it would cause this issue, or other issues.

If you want to try it, I recommend testing on non-production systems with
non-production data.

We used to use ACT 6 but it was quite annoying to have to email sync files to
the main server and then redistribute the updates to everyone. Sometimes the
Sync does not work even.

I created a simple and basic CRM tool using Groove forms which would allow
people to add contact details and sales details.

Having it in Groove meant that it would Sync automatically when connected to
the internet so everyone will have an updated CRM tool in real time.

Saving an ACT database in groove is not exactly ideal since the database
might get corrupted due to synching and using it at the same time.
