Using Microsoft word to edit e-mail messages

I'm having a problem when using "Use Microsoft word to
edit e-mail messages". Outlook (2002)freezes up every
time I use this option, but when I go into options, mail
format and uncheck "Use Microsoft word to edit e-mail
messages"...the problem is gone. I never had this problem
before. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

What patch level is Office at? Have you tried Detect and Repair?

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After searching google.groups.com and finding no answer, Dan asked:
