Vehicle allocation

Mauro

I need to allocate company vehicles on Project but I'm not sure I'm doing
right.

I create a task and I fix the duration (e.g. 2 days), then I assign 1 person
and 1 vehicle (both are work resources) to the task; automatically the task
duration decreases to 1 day, do I have to re-fix it again on 2 days.

Is there a way to allocate vehicles as work resorces (so handling their over
allocation) without considering their usage on the task duration calculation?

Thanks!

Hi Mauro,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

This is one area where Project is very weak. Whilst it may well be OK, if
you were to level the resources, the car will be treated as a different
resource to the man and you could well find the car assigned to different
dates to the man. Check very carefully to see what Project's done.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)
