Vendor Capacity Constraints

I'm trying to enter vendor capacity constraints in to Project.

In my ramp up I want (say) 120 units delivered per week, but my vendor can
only send me 80 per week (say). Let's say I cut POs 4 weeks before delivery.
I want to order these materials as late as possible and cut POs weekly.
Let's say I need 1200 units in six months.

Any ideas on how I model this in Project?

Thanks!

Project is at its core a resource work scheduling tool and this sort of
modeling is not really within its province. I'd look to something like
Excel or there may be purpose-built applications you could use. You could
then transfer the resulting anticipated delivery dates into Project in order
to schedule the tasks that consume those resources. Note that Project
considers material resources essentially to be infinite in supply and always
available when needed. Unlike work resources where there is a maximum
availability entry, you always have as many materials as you need.
