Assuming that you have the copyright holder's permission, copy the movie
file to the hard drive in the same folder as the ppt file. Then (in
PowerPoint) click Insert => Movies & Sounds => Movies from file => navigate
to the saved movie file => click on Insert.

If it does not play (while in slideshow mode), post back and let us know
more. What type of movie? Does it play in Windows Media Player (WMP)?
Does it play in the Media Player (not the same as WMP)? and such.
