Viewing word arrt in color

Word Art objects appear on my screen in black & white only. They print
correctly in color. They used to view properly but I've inadvertently
changed something ... what?
Windows XP.

In the Windows Control Panel check to see if you've turned on
the 'high contrast' options in the Acccessibility area.

Thanks for the comment. "High Contrast" is already enabled, so the problem must be related to something else.
