Want to migrate Outlook settings (mainly ACCOUNTS) to new install

B

Bruce

I have been having to reinstall my system over and over during the past few
months. I am looking for ways to automate this as much as possible.
I have most of the stuff OK, until it comes to Outlook. I would like to
migrate the account info over. I do NOT want to BACKUP and RESTORE (probably
the most logical, but I need to use another system with the files while this
one is being repaired....)
What is the best way to do this?
I would LIKE to only get the OUTLOOK settings and such.
What I have done in the past (a little easier....) is to create all of the
accounts in Outlook EXPRESS, and then export those, and then import them on
the new system into OE, and then start outlook, and it sees the "new
accounts" nd lets me import is. I am looking for a better way....

Thanks
Bruce

If you are using Outlook 2000 CW mode, or Outlook 2002 or 2003, this is the
only way. Outlook 2000 IMO allowed the export of your account settings.

Hi Bruce,

If you are using Office 2003, a possible solution is to use "Custom
Installation Wizard" to create a Outlook profile (.prf file). After
reinstalling the system, you can apply Outlook user profiles by using a PRF
file.

For more information, please refer to the following link:

Hope it helps.
