Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel

I've looked around here trying to find out how to get rid of this annoying warning but don't find it. I run a computer lab and need to get this off all 38 machines. What do I do to fix this? Thanks.

Exactly what "warning" are you referring to - How is it worded? What are the
links pointing to?

It may also be helpful to know the exact update levels of Office & OS X.

I'm running OS 10.5.6 and Office 12.0.
The warning says "Do you want to open a potentially unsafe file? Some files can contain viruses or can be harmful to your computer. You should be certain that this file is from a trustworthy source."
Since I'm linking to my own work, I want to get rid of this.

Thanks

Well, if your reply is accurate you're **way** behind in your updates for
Office - you stated 12.0 but the current level is 12.1.5, so I'd suggest you
run AutoUpdate in order to rectify that. Also, run Disk Utility - Repair
Disk Permissions regardless of any updating.

I believe the warning was squelched in one of the updates but am not sure
which. It also depends on what type of target you're linking to. It's a
security control which can't be overridden in those cases. If you find it to
be a nuisance it may help to use Help> Send Feedback to express your
sentiments to MS on the matter. Perhaps there are workarounds but I'm not
aware of one.

I have the same error message, but I am running the most current version of Office (12.1.5) and OSX 10.5.6. I don't know if the fact the presentation I am trying to run was created on a PC with the .ppt extension and I am running it on a Mac has anything to do with it, but I have 3 hyperlinks on my first slide that won't work.

I also have updated both Office & OSX and still have the warning. My hyperlinks are all to other slides in the PowerPoint I'm working on. Anybody with a solution?

The situation as described here is different from what your op suggested. If
you get the warning when you link to elsewhere In the same presentation it's
because you're going about it the wrong way. Don't use Insert> Hyperlink.

Instead use Slide Show> Action Settings or Action Buttons. Otherwise you're
taking the long way around & essentially reaching outside the file only to
reach back into it again, hence the warning.

I am also having the same issue. My MS office version is 12.1.5, and the warning message reads "Do you want to open a potentially unsafe file?" I am using action buttons where I have selected "hyperlink to link to other presentations" and which reside on the same compute.
