WBS chart import/export

In Project Pro 2007 is there a tool/process to create a WBS chart and import
it into Project to create the WBS……and/or export your WBS from Project into a
WBS chart?

Hello Jesse,

No, sorry, not built in. Project can import lists of data from products
like Excel and can easy export information for a WBS (Package Name,
Duration, Resource needs) but it does not have a built in view like the
classic WBS org chart look.

I believe there are several other products which will work with MS
Project, however, I don't have any personal experience using them. See
the Project MVP website for a list of companion products to MS Project.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

If Im not wrong there is an add-in so you can work this out with project and
visio. I haven't tried it yet, but I'll post something here as soon as I have.

Thanks very much Vladimir. I had forgotten the possible tie-in with
Visio Professional. There are Visual Reports in Project 2007, but as I
don't currently have Visio installed, I cannot see any of the choices.
Thanks so much for adding your comments. Please do post back if you
find something.

Ive just made a try if the add-in.

First of all, you can download the add in from
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...49-e14c-4a7d-8d49-90061fe08ab4&displaylang=en

After you install it, you are able to both import projects from MS Project
from inside MS Visio and also draw WBS charts in visio and then export the
wbs to project 2007.

I have just tried it once, but worked really fine for me! You guys should
take a look on it!

and JulieS, Im the one to be thankful here, you MVPs make a really good job
here. Im just someone trying to learn a little bit more about project and
wanting to help in whatever I can (at least here in Brazil, its not easy to
get information about project).

Vladimir,

Thank you so much for posting the link as well as posting your positive
experience with it! I'll definitely add your post to my "helpful info"
folder in my newsreader.

Thanks also for the kind words about the MVPs who answer question on
this newsgroup and others. I hope you'll visit the newsgroup often and
post should you have questions.

Regards,
