Web Page Preview

When I perform a web page preview, a fairly substantially sized bar appears
on the left side with page links...

How do I get rid of this and will it appear on the actual website when I
publish it?

When you save as a web page there are web options that you set. How you see
them depends on the version of PowerPoint and I don't know what version you are
using. Anyway, you're asked if you want PowerPoint to add slide navigation
controls. Uncheck that if you don't.
