Welcome Window Office 2003 Professional Edition

After downloading the recommended updates from Microsoft, my welcome window
with the user account would appear for 1 second and then the screen with
icons comes up. So, I can't get the welcome window to function.
My platform is Windows XP service pack 2

Are you referring to the Splash screen? I guess I'm not sure why this
is an issue? Unless you suppress it, it will only display while the
application is loading. The faster the application loads the shorter
the display.

If this is not what you are referring to then please provide
additional information. If you are referring to the Windows logon
screen then you should ask your question in a Windows newsgroup since
this one is dedicated to Office related questions:
