For years OL2K displayed a small status window when checking POP email
accounts and showed how many messages being downloaded, errors etc...

The other day it stopped coming up when I did a send receive and
hasn't returned since.

I never turned the option off but darned if I can find where the
option can be re-enabled! Can someone tell me where I turn this option
on again???

It's driving me crazy that I can't find this simple option! :)

Sure...

MS OL 2K SP-3 (0.0.0.6627)
Internet Mail Only - Security Update

It may have stopped displaying due to a service pack I applied via
Windows Update but I cant' say for sure. I simply haven't been able to
figure out how to get it back and find that I miss it. The # of emails
I have to download as well as any status probelms with the pop server
are handy.

thanks

During a mail poll you should see a little animation in the lower R corner
of Outlook. Double click it to restore the Send/Receive progress dialog.

Thanks - yes I know exactly what you are saying - however clicking
repeatedly on the text, icon or 'down arrow' in the lower right corner
bar produces NO result whatsoever during a send/receive operation
while the animation is active down there. ...?

I don't recall every having done anything in the first place to cause
the window to go away - is it possible something is not correct or has
become corrupted that would cause just this isolated problem?

thanks again,

Never seen it.
What happens when you double click the animation? It's small. Wait until you
have a fairly long poll in progress then click accurately.

In playing with it I discovered the answer and in posting this
followup looks like you noted it too Russ.

You have to click on it when there are actual unread email(s) to
download. I was trying to do it and it would animate and such but
there was no email previously.

During emails a little menu box appears when clicking on the animation
and that brought up a status option...

Problem Solved!!!

Thanks!!!
