What is the best way to format a Publisher Document?

I have Office 2003. I Love it. But it seems like everyone else uses an older
version. I've made some really nice newsletters etc on Publisher. But I take
it to the printer and they don't have the same version ,so the font is wrong,
color is wrong etc. It's very frustrating. What can I do? I also face the
same prob. with Power Point. Is there a way to avoid this?
