when starting Access 97 i recreive message not enough free memory

I am running windows xp home. When I try to access Microsoft Access 97 I
recieve a message out of memory. I have adjusted my virtual memory. I have
1024 Megs of ram. Can anyone help me troubleshoot this problem?

Out of the box, Access 97 had a problem with 1 gigabyte or more of memory.
It was fixed in one of the service packs.
