Where can I buy the Office 2007?

S

Sasha

I know that it is due to come out the 30th of January, 2007, but several
companies have already allowed people to pre-order it. Does MicroSoft do the
same thing? If so, how can I pre-order the product?

M

Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook]

Amazon already paid Microsoft to stock the product in their inventory. Why pay more for something if you don't have to? Amazon will save you money and, seeing as how you are a student, you can use that saved money for something else useful like food.

Hey, what in the world? This site is supposed to be supportive of
MicroSoft, especially considering that MicroSoft hosts it and all. Now why
would I wanna pay extra? Considering how much people are against MicroSoft,
I would like to support it if I can, even if that means paying a little bit
extra at times. Especially considering it's only 10 dollars.

M

Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook]

I support Microsoft in every way, but until they are paying my salary (which they are NOT), I tend to choose carefully how I spend my money and where I can realize a savings.

Say that $10 is a negligible amount the next time you need cash to pay for a plane or train ticket to visit your parents on holiday. Or for when you would like to go the extra mile and treat a special friend to lunch. For me, every $10 saved per week ends up being over $500 at the end of the year. I don't consider that chump change.

I think Milly is correct here. But if you want to go ahead and do your route then see below. Good to have extra money to throw around

Oh really? I thought the MVP meant they paid you... Like Microsoft V*
Paid. But anyways, I wanna buy the software from MicroSoft not necessarily
because I want to pay extra to them, but a big part of it is that I want all
of the money I pay to go to them, not to some retail company. And regardless
of where you think I should buy it, could you just tell me the page where I
can buy it from MicroSoft?

I posted it for you Sasha. But for Office 2007 products it says the following.

Order from Microsoft
This product is not available for purchase directly from Microsoft

After all, it's not like I'm going to spend ten extra dollars on MicroSoft
EVERY week of the year: just this one. And I don't mind working two extra
hours (after tax being deducted and all) to make sure that MicroSoft receives
more than that much (since the retailers get to keep a portion of the money
too), and I'd like MicroSoft to earn all the money that I would like to pay
for its products.

Well, I do not have money to throw around, but since this is a one-time
thing, I don't really mind it that much. After all, it feels much better to
have bought the software I'm going to use for who knows how long from
MicroSoft, not some cheap company. But thanks for giving me the URL.

Yeah, it's that five-minute delay between posting and appearing on the
boards that causes this to happen... Wonder why they created it.
Apparently, they have a good reason, since Google does it too, and two major
companies wouldn't both just spontaneously make some capricious action that
is detrimental to the public.
