Where can I learn how to use MP 98?

My boss told me today that he wants me to start scheduling our numerous jobs
using the Microsoft Project 98 that is currently installed on my computer at
work. I have never used any version of Microsoft Project and I am lost when
I open this program. Tonight I brought home what appeared to be the manual,
but it ended up being for an IT dept, not just an average person. So, does
anyone know of any websites that I can visit to aquaint myself with this
program? I don't have it on my home computer so using the help menu isn't
really going to help me unless I'm at work, and when I'm at work I just don't
have the time to devote to that much reading.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

TIA

Jaime,
Project 98 is a very old version although if your scheduling needs are
modest it is still very usable. The biggest issue you will face in using
an old version is compatibility with other users who have the current
version, which is Project 2007. Also be advised that Microsoft no longer
supports Project 98 but this forum does.

The best way to learn any version of Project is via a hands-on class.
You can learn Project using tutorials but it is not a quick process. Of
all the Microsoft applications, Project is the least user friendly,
least intuitive and has the longest learning curve, at least in my
opinion.

You say you don't have time to devote to reading at work. If that's the
case, you will either need to get Project for your PC at home and study
there, or as I said before, get into a hands-on class.

Let me offer a couple of training suggestions. If you want to take a
look at a tutorial, try fellow MVP, Mike Glen's tutorial which can be
found via a link on our MVP website at,
http://www.mvps.org/project/links.htm. Another source for training is
from fellow MVPs, Gary Chefetz and Dale Howard. You can find out more
about their offerings on their website at, http://MSProjectExperts.Com.

Once you get your "feet wet" and have specific questions, feel free to
post on this newsgroup. We will be glad to help you out.
