where is the master document function?

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard)
Processor: Intel

Word 2004 had a master document function that allowed me to make sub documents and work on those without having to navigate a hundred+ page document. I cant find this function in word 08. is it gone?

and yet, my transferred files still have the subdocuments collapsed. where is the toggle to expand them? the only way i can currently get them to expand is to hit "print".

love this function! if its not here, can i just load word 04 onto the new machine or will word 08 screw it up?

As in prior versions Master Document View is incorporated into Outline View,
so if you go to Outline View & click the last button on its toolbar it will
produce another toolbar with the Master Document tools.

No, it's still there: works the same way, but they moved the buttons around
to try to save having an extra toolbar.

Go into Outline View", then click Master Document View". The rest of the
controls will not appear unless you are IN Master Document View.

how do i create and collapse sub documents? dont see those toggle buttons emerging, even in master doc view.

little tool bar was hiding off to the edge of the screen!
