Who Does What When missing tasks

G

Gretchen

Hello,

I'm running the Who Does What When report but all I seem to be getting
is the name -- not the task listings. What am I doing wrong?

Also, because I'm using this for a master project, is there a way to
show which project those tasks are for in this report?

Thanks!
Gretchen

Gretchen,

Edit the report and ensure the option "and task assignments" on the
Definition tab is checked.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Gretchen,

If you have a master project as a result of opening projects that have
shared resources then rather perversely in order to be able to use some of
the resource reports you need to "connect" the master project to the
resource pool as well, in Project 2007 this is done from the Tools> Resource
Sharing> Share Resources option.

I hope this helps you.

Hi Dominic,

Odd, I'm not seeing that issue. I have a "master" project created
through a pool and have no difficulty viewing resource reports
through the master project. The pool file is open, however --
perhaps that's the difference?

Projectability

Hi Julie,

I just tested this using Project 2007.

I have a separate Resource Pool file which has 7 projects sharing the
resources in it. I open the resource pool file and the get the "3 options"
message, I opt for the 3rd option, open the resource pool and all the sharer
files in a master project. The master project has all the sub-projects and
the resource pool contained within it. I can run the Who does What When
report and it does show data so I got that wrong, however if I try to run
the "To do List" report the drop down list for "Show Tasks Using" shows no
names, however if you then link the Master Project to the open Resource Pool
the list will show resource names allowing you to run a report for a person
across all projects they are assigned tasks in. So apologies for providing
slightly incorrect information to Gretchen and well spotted Julie. I knew
there was an issue with Reports, Shared Resources and Master Projects but I
guess old age is catching up on me.

Hi Dominic,

Thanks for the additional information. I see exactly what you
report in the "To do list" report. Frustrating and *not* super
excited.
;-)
