Why are my labels coming out blank?

I feel silly about this, but I have followed all of the steps in the tool
wizard to make labels and I can not figure out why they continue to come out
blank.

Hi Sigwah,

What version of Word are you using? (I use Word 2003, so I might not
be able to help you much, but will certainly try).

Are you making a sheet of labels that are all the same or is each label
different?

What does your Print Layout View show you onscreen? Do you see the
information there but it won't print, or do you still not see any
content in the labels?

This is what you can do on XP or 2003, only 97 is different. Again I
would need to know if you can see the text on screen and it just isn't
printing or whether it is not on screen.

Depending which way you are doing it there are a couple of things I
would try. If you are using the Mail Merge wizard (Tools > Letters and
Mailings > Mail Merge) but choosing labels, you should be able to see
your labels on screen. Once you have selected your data source, insert
the fields using More Items... this lets you put your fields in. Then
click Update All Labels this should populate all the labels on screen.
then complete the merge

If you are using Tools > Evelopes and Labels

Once you have chosesn the size of your label, click New Document, this
will put an outline of your labels on the page. If you can't see them
click on Table on the menu bar and show gridlines.
Then you can type the info into the labels. Then print as normal.

Hope this helps
