Why aren't my pictures displayed on screen?

I'm using Publisher SB and the pictures aren't being displayed on screen.
I've tried to change the Edit->pictures option, but that didn't help. It
changes the setting, but the pictures and word art still won't display. Any
ideas?

Ah, Publisher SB. Pity, that it doesn't exist.

I take it you mean Publisher that comes with Office SBE. The Publisher that
comes with Office SBE is the same as Publisher that is bought on its own,
but unfortunately we do need a version number to know which version of
Publisher you're actually using. I'm guessing 2003, as this issue is common
in Publisher 2002 and 2003, and Office XP SBE was difficult to get hold of.
and the pictures aren't being displayed on
screen. I've tried to change the Edit->pictures option,

Edit > Pictures? Do you mean View > Pictures?
It changes the setting, but the pictures and word art
still won't display.

Searching the group for this issue reveals tens, maybe even hundreds of
responses along the lines of the following:

Turn down the hardware acceleration in Windows and reboot. If this works,
then the problem is with your video driver. Download the latest drivers
from the manufacturer of your video card's website, install these instead of
your current drivers, reboot and re-enable hardware acceleration, and see if
that fixes your problem. If it doesn't, then start pestering your video
driver manufacturer for better drivers.

Maybe you have View, Picture Display "Hide pictures" selected?

I believe that is what Mplsboy6 meant when he said he had changed the
"Edit->pictures option" - in Publisher 2002 and 2003, the menu is named View
Pictures, rather than View > Picture Display, and the Edit menu is right
next door to the View menu, so they may have become confused when he wrote
his post.
