Most Epson printers have utilities that will clean your print head. Sounds like you
have a clogged black cartridge.
Open your printer folder, right-click your printer, properties.

Go to the Epson web site, look for your printer, read the support documents.

I suspect the issue is not a Publisher issue, but a printer issue.

I read on a printer forum you can put clogged cartridges in boiling water for awhile
and they will become unclogged. Haven't tried it.

I note the OP said she did the clening herself. In the hands of most
people, that's a recipe for disaster. Sur, go ahead: get a Brillo pad
or an old toothbrush, and scrub away...

Blessed be, for sure...

Not possible on an Epson. The printhead is permanently installed (not user
replaceable) in the machine. You are thinking of HP and Lexmark cartridges
with integrated printhead and Canon which has a user replaceable printhead.
Look on the printer newsgroup comp.periphs.printers for the name Arthur
Entlich ( e-printer####@mvps.org replace #### with help ) . He's created a
printhead cleaning manual for Epson's that he will email to you. Send him a
private email to request a copy.

If I hadn't top posted the message might have been clearer to you. The
suggestion was to remove the printhead and put it in boiling water. It isn't
possible for an average user to remove a printhead on an Epson. But please
take my suggestion and email Art Entlich for a copy of his Epson printhead
cleaning manual.

I'm glad you do top post. I really dislike bottom posting but that's just my
preference. Bottom posting is like watching a rerun of the first part of a
show before you get to the second part.
