Why can't I install publisher 2.0 on my PC?

When I try to install Publisher from the floppy disks, I get "16 bit Windows
Subsystem----C:\WINDOWS|SYSTEM32|AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable
for running MS-DOS and Mocrosoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to
terminate the application. I have Windows XP on my computer. I have been
using this publisher program for almost 2 years.

Try setting the compatibility options on the setup program to Windows 95
compatibility mode.

I have tried Articles 305521, 324767, and attempted 314106, but couldn't
understand all the "jargon in 314106. In following the instructions in the
first two articles, I was unable to expand the command.co. I tried setting
the compatibility setting to Windows 95, and I still get the same 16-bit
subsystem message stating that the system file is not suitable for.... Why
is it that after two years, this program has decided to just NOT work?

If you have been using it for 2 years--
Why are you trying to instal it now?
Were you using it for 2 years on THIS machine running Windows XP?

The answers to these important questions may lead to better problem
solving.
