Why can't I load Office 2000 on my newer 2005 computer

I have Office 2000 on my older computer with 98 and then XP pro and went
back to 98. Also on my laptop running Windows 2000 but cannot load on my
newer 2005 computer. Says to put in XP with SP2 which I do but no use
