Why did excel spreadsheet stop working. Cannot record data.

I am trying to continue a checking account and it will not let me enter any
data.

Unfortunately, this is a bit of a vague issue. What happens when you open the
file? Do you get any error messages? Are you using the 10-key? is the num
lock button pressed? What happens when you try to enter something?
