Why does it say this option is locked?

I downloaded a new trial and I can't do anything when I try to type a message
at the bottom pops up and it says this option is locked. I am not sure what
to do with it now.

Because you either didn't activate it, or the trial has expired.

And if it's expired, just downloading a new copy won't give you more time.
It's pretty much one trial version per customer; after that, as is only
fair, you have to buy the programme.
