Why does my calendar always start on February 1998?

I have started entering items in a project 2000 Gantt chart view. Then I
flip to the Calendar view and I see I'm viewing Feb 1988. Not very handy, so
I right-click on the calendar and choose "go-to" and i choose today's date.
Ok great. I can now see my tasks in a calendar view.
I go back to the Gannt Chart View to add more tasks, then back to the
calendar view to have a look. The calendar is again looking at Feb 1988, and
I have to right-click and use "go-to" to get to a place where I can view my
tasks. I am thinking I have something set wrong. This is going to drive me
crazy if everytime I flip views it goes back to Feb 1988.

Thanks for your help!

Hi Nick,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

Frustrating I agree :( I don't know what causes this but if you select a
task in the Gantt chart first and then go to the Calendar, it often meets
the requirement. Have you got the latest Service Pack - SP2 is the latest?

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)

Thanks Mike. That works well enough for me. If you have a blank task
selected and click over to the calendar, you get the 1988 year. If you
select a task first , then go to the calendar, it takes you to the task on
the calendar. Thanks Mike!

p.s. I am not sure what service pack I am using. It doesn't say SP2 or
anything in the about box, so I am assuming it's service pack nill.

Thanks again,

-Nick

You're welcome, Nick :) I suggest you download the free SP2 from
Microsoft.
