Why does norton not work when i open any office program?

whenever i try to open word or powerpoint or whatever- some norton virus
thing comes up and i have to click ok about 4 times to open any office program

What exactly does this some "norton virus thing" say per verbatim. My crystal Ball does not understand this general virus thing without an explanation<s>

Norton antivirus 2005 does not support repair feature, please uninstall and
reinstall-

This error message is usually caused by installing Norton
Antivirus to a different folder than the default one suggested by
the Norton setup program. See
