why I can't see the cursor in word?

When I want to move around the word document I'm doing, the cursor goes and
return..turns visible and invisible and I can't posisioning the cursor
correctly.I'm using office 2003.

Do you mean the mouse cursor gone invisble when you type?

If so, go to Control Panel, choose Mouse. Then under the Point Options tab
and Visibility, clear the checkbox of Hide pointer while typing.
