Why is my Office 2003 update looking for a file from Office 2002 .

My office update from Office 2003 Student and teacher edition is looking for
a file from Office 2002 called "outret". No such file is on my HD and it
isn't on the CD either. Where is this file necessary for me to install SP3 to
Office?

Hi, Positude,

It sounds like you had a previous version of Outlook installed on the
computer before installing Office 2003. That's the CD it's looking for. Do
you not have that CD? Was your system pre-installed by someone else?

Check the Windows Control Panel's Add/Remove Programs applet to see what it
thinks is installed, and uninstall the programs you no longer need. This is
the same information that Office Update uses to figure out what it needs to
update.
