Why is there always a tab at the beginning of the text in autoshapes?

When I add text an autoshape to a drawing (e.g. a rectangle or a flow
chart shape) there is always a tab at the beginning of that text. I
always first have to delete that tab or else it messes up the aliggnment
(e.g. when I specify center to center the text in its box). How can I
get rid of that stupid tab?

Hi Michael,

This is text withini an autoshape? Word uses the 'normal' style
definition for the text. Do you have Tabs or an indent set as part of the
style definition for Normal?
