if you mean a screen with an 16:9 aspect ratio, you should try to format
your slides with this aspect ratio using "File - Page Setup - Paper Format:
Custom", for example 28 cm x 15,75 cm (or 11" x 6.2") should work very well.

I assume you mean a screen with a 16:9 ratio. If so, the problem isn't
really PowerPoint but rather your video card. It's format is 4:3. Some
video cards can be set for 16:9 ratio with different drivers. Check you
vendors web site.
