Hi
this newsgroup is dedicated to the MS product - Project, you would be better
off asking Word questions in a word group such as
microsoft.public.word.newusers
however, to answer your question:
this option is linked to styles - if you use styles in your word documents
you can edit the styles (under the format / paragraph options) and then tick
the box where it says "ADD TO TEMPLATE" .. however, if you do not use
"styles" actively, then, by default all the work you do is using the style
called normal.
To edit the normal style
-- ver 2000 and lower
choose format / style from the menu, choose normal on the left hand
side, click on modify
choose format / paragraph / go to the indents and page break tab, make
your changes, click ok
tick the add to template box and click OK
-- ver 2002 and above
choose format / style & formatting from the menu
in the styles & formatting task pane, find normal, click on it, move
your cursor over to the right hand side of the task pane and click on the
drop down arrow, choose modify
choose format / paragraph / go to the indents and page break tab, make
your changes, click ok
tick the add to template box and click OK
NOW, if when you close Word you are asked in you want to save changes made
to the global template you will need to answer YES to have these settings
changed for all future documents.
