will importing my website to local disk lose info on web

I would like to import my web site into my local hard drive so that I can
improve its looks . .will doing that lose the information tha tis already
there? Or will I only be importing a copy of it?

If your online web has FP extensions installed, and working, you would
Publish from the server to your hardrive...not import.

Either way it's not moving the file from A to B and leaving nothing on
A...you won't lose anything..shouldn't lose anything.

....The import function only imports what is seen by a browser, so shared
borders, include files, navigation structure, themes, asp pages, databases,
etc. are not imported.
