When I click on an Office file icon, I get the error
message:
"Windows can't find C\\..........doc"
I then get a box stating:
"Please wait while Windows configures MS Office 2000"
It looks as if MS Office is "installing" itself. This
takes a few seconds. The program's window opens.
When I clcik on that same file-usually a .doc file---it
will open and run within that frame of the Office program
which had just opened.
Something similar happens when I restart the PC. I am told
that Windows is configuring MSOffice 2000.
Troubleshooting attempts I have tried:
-Uninistalling the MS Office 2000
-Running the "2K Eraser" programs issued by MS to erase
all file and registry remains of the Office program
-Reinstalling the MS Office 2000 from the discs
Yet the quirky problem persists.
Any ideas or suggestions?
