Windows Installer dialogue box continually appears

I upgraded to Office 2003 Pro.
Now the Windows Installer dialogue box continually appears, and occasionally
locks up. Also I cannot get online updates.

There are a few things you can try. First one would be to attempt a repair
of Office 2003 via the Help menu in any Office product and choosing the
"Detect and Repair" option. You can also do this via the "Add/Remove
Programs" option in the Control Panel.
If this does not solve your problem, then your installation might be very
corrupted and a clean install of Office would be recommendable.
If you can't achieve this, try the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility:
