windows xp pro

I bought my pc at auction and it is non returnable..it is a compaq pentium
and has windows xp pro on it.. I managed to get past the administrator
password so I can do something on it but when I tried set up an internet
connection I keep getting the 668 error message-connection terminated and I
cant get on no matter what I try.. any suggestions will be thouroughly
appreciated.. thanks

Did it come with any cd's or does it have a recovery installation?
I'd suggest you look on compaqs site for FAQ's on your model
This isnt really a Q for this Office group

thanks for the advice..there was nothing with it at all.. no cds ,paperwork
or anything .. where would you suggest ,other than faq ,that I try to find
answers if I am in the wrong place for this.. ?
