Word 2000 text forms fields and double click

I have just created lots of forms with text form boxes all
through them. I then protected the documents to stop users
messing them up. All went well until a user wanted to
select a word in a sentence they had typed in the text
box. A double click selects from the word you click on to
the end of the field. Trying to highlight the word by
holding down the mouse button and dragging over it does
the same. Is there a way to change the action of a double
click of the mouse button in protected documents.
