Hey guys,

Does word 2003 supports 2d barcode? Is it possible to generate 2d bar codes
programatically? If it so, please direct me to correct
documentation/examples. Thanks in advance.

Hi Ravic,

The only kind of barcode directly generated by Word is POSTNET. Any other
kind has to be generated by some other program and inserted in Word as a
graphic object.

I don't have any specific recommendations, but this Google search turns up
about 56K hits:

Hi Jay,

Thanks a lot for your response. Really appreciate it. I did googled the
requirement and found those helpful sites. I might be dumb, just curious, is
there any kind of fonts in word that supports barcodes (1d or 2d). Thanks for
your patience with me.

Regards
Ravi

Hi Ravi,

There are lots of fonts that support barcodes, but none of them come with
Word. You can start reading at
http://www.adams1.com/pub/russadam/barcode1.html and follow on from there,
or use Google to look for fonts for specific barcode types that you're
interested in.

From what I've read, though, barcode fonts are more often misread or
rejected by barcode readers than barcodes that are generated as graphics.
And I don't think there's any such thing as a 2D font.
