Word 2003 picture paste not working

I can no longer copy pictures from a web site into a word doc.
I used to be able to do this by just copying and pasting
Now I get empty "table boxes"
Any help on this?

Click on Tools | Options | View | uncheck the "Picture placeholders" box |
Print | check the "Drawing objects" box | OK.
