Word 2007 and Outlook 2003

I am having a problem with Word 2007 and Outlook 2003 working together. I am
unable to email a document without it being in an attachment. I have gone in
and placed the "send to mail recipient " icon on my quick tool bar but it
doesn't highlight. I also downloaded a compatability update with no luck.

Any advise wold be appreciated.

Word and Outlook must be the same version in order for that feature to work.
