Word 2007 doc. vs Word 2003 doc.

I am running Office 07 on my Win XP Home laptop.

I created a doc. and sent it to my work computer that runs Office 2003.

When I tried to open it, an error message came up saying that the version
pof the doc. sent is newer than my current version, and could not open it
up?

Are we saying that Word 03 cannot read and open Word 07 docs?

Funny, the doc. I sent showed it as a docx. What is this?

Thanks,

Hi,

I have Windows Office 2007 and when you save a document that you want
someone with an earlier version of Word to be able to open click on that
little circle with the Microsoft logo, then hit "save as" and to your right
you'll see an option to save it as a Word 1997-2003 document. Then it will
be okay to send and they'll be able to open it. I think docx means you're
using Word 2007.

Hope this helps you. I'm struggling with Office 2007, too. So completely
different!
