Word 2008 compatibility with Word for Windows 2007

I am using word 2008 for Mac and always save documents as .doc files for my
client to ensure compatibility (they were using Word for Windows 2002 and
2003). My client just upgraded to Word 2007 for Windows. My question it this:
Can I now save my documents as .docx files, send to my client, and be
guaranteed 100% compatibility with their PCs?

Hi,

Pretty close to 100%. If you use a font they don't have then font
substitution will occur. If you have a different brand and model printer
than the Windows folks as the default, some margin changes might happen.
I can't think of any other problems right off the bat.

You not only "can", you *should*. Word 2007 is capable of some new features
that the old .doc format can't store. Word 2008 can both store them and
edit them.

Cheers
