Word 97 and Used Computer

I just purchased a laptop from a friend. Everything works just fine,
but he is the registered name with word so that every time I email a
word document as an attachment, his name appears when the attachment is
opened. How can I change the name to my own.

Hi Jim,

I didn't see another post from you either.

You can try changing the user name under Tools/Options/User
Information but if that doesn't rectify the problem then you will need
to reinstall Office 97 in order to change the name for the product
license found under Help/About.

They modified this in Office 2000 and it can be changed in the
Registry but for previous versions it require reinstalling.
