word art conversion

I created a word art image and need to convert it to a gif. I did
several of these, successfully, 4 or 5 years ago and cannot, for the
life of me, remember how to convert it. I use word 97 and have tried
everything I can think of. Can anyone help?

I don't have Word 97, but I do have Publisher 97, I simply copy and paste into Paint
as save as a gif. (Any Paint program).

In more recent versions of Word, saving the document as a Web page will
accomplish this. I'm not sure about Word 97, but see
http://www.gmayor.com/extract_images_from_word.htm (if you can access
it--Graham's site has been up and down this weekend due to a problem beyond
his control).

Thank you all so much! I copied and pasted into Paint and also into
Irfan view and both worked. The web site you suggested was still down
but I will keep trying that see if I can learn more new things.
